Hey all,

I'm Gabri and this is my personal site. I run an AI startup (classgenie), and help small teams clarify their product strategy. This is where I talk about everything from human potential, learning, product strategy and AI.

• • Born in Caceres, Spain, and raised as a future tennis superstar (obsession #1).
• • Didn't make it as a pro, but learned about the value of hard work. Soon I also discovered chess, got pretty into it (obsession #2).
• • At age 15 I became the national coach of Spain at the game TrophyManager (obsession #3).
• • Became an engineer in Seville, moved to London at age 23 to work for a huge SatCom company, Inmarsat. But…
• • I was not obsessed with pure engineering. I realised I'm into humans as much as machines, so at age 26 I transitioned to WebApp freelancing with small startups. And that's when I discovered my mission: Turning technical and human complexity into clear product direction (obsession #4).
• • Speaking of freelancing, I then created the site thefreelancechoice, where I interviewed GOATs like Stefan Mischook and Matt Inglot from Freelance Transformation. That experience taught me the value of building the list!
• • In 2022, I moved to Montreal and created the chess platform chesskool. I somehow convinced one of my childhood heroes (GM Miguel Illescasi) to join the project.
• • 2022–25 I grew chesskool over a thousand paid users, and hundreds of monthly subscribers. Had some of the best and some of the most challenging moments of my professional career. Learned the resiliency and vision needed to build a startup from the ground up. Sold the project in 2025.
• • Since mid 2025 I'm building classgenie, to bring AI language learning to language institutions.
